Why Barefoot?

Did you know that 98% of all babies are born with healthy feet? But in the course of life, we put children in shoes that are incorrectly designed or simply do not fit the shape of their feet. Thick soles, high heels and narrowness in the toe area can permanently deform the toes and limit the correct development of children's feet.

By choosing footwear that mimics walking barefoot, our feet get what they crave — freedom.

Physiotherapists and paediatricians agree that barefoot footwear is best for healthy foot development, allowing natural movement. Leonardo da Vinci called the human foot an engineering masterpiece, but its importance is often overlooked until injury occurs. Some foot issues are congenital, others result from improper footwear. Using second-hand shoes or shoes that are too big or small can harm walking patterns and discourage activity. Modern research endorses soft, flexible shoes over hard, high-arched ones for proper foot development. To ensure healthy growth, let children's feet be as free as possible.

Excessive support does not benefit the muscles, as it weakens them and limits movement.

Research has confirmed that supporting the arch of a normally developed child's foot does not have any positive effects, as the child has to build the arches muscularly. This means putting weight on the foot, bearing weight, balancing and tiptoeing. The footwear must therefore be as soft and comfortable as possible, the sole flat, soft and flexible, and the instep not too high and too hard. When choosing the first footwear, we must be aware that it is primarily intended for protection against the cold and non-slip when placed on the feet.

Free Your Feet

Barefoot footwear is designed based on the anatomical shape of the foot. It does not constrain the foot; on the contrary, in it, our toes can freely wiggle!
